Brian Lynch was appointed chief bankruptcy judge for Western Washington on October 1, 2014. He was sworn in as a bankruptcy judge for the Tacoma Division of the court on June 1, 2010. He serves on the Ninth Circuit ADR Committee and the Ad Hoc Chiefs Committee re Shared Services. He is also chair of the NCBJ’s Liaison Committee with the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees. Prior to his service as bankruptcy judge, he was the Chapter 13 trustee for the Portland Division of the District of Oregon bankruptcy court. And before that, practiced with the Bishop, Lynch & White law firm in Seattle, in the fields of bankruptcy law and creditors' rights law. He received his J. D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
