Paralegal turned tech entrepreneur, Janine Sickmeyer founded and built legal startup NextChapter, serving as CEO and Founder for 6 years until it was acquired in September 2019 by Fastcase. In that time, she grew NextChapter's product and user-base to 5,000+ attorneys in all 94 U.S. Districts. As a first-time founder, she learned and managed software development, product management, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, fundraising, user experience design, branding, customer success, and client partnerships.
Janine joined Fastcase as Director of Practice Workflow as part of the acquisition. As a business leader and entrepreneur, Janine provides strategic vision for NextChapter and is particularly fascinated by the intersection between law and technology and more specifically, forms automation.
Ms. Sickmeyer is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and was recognized as a Women of Legal Tech in 2017 and Fastcase 50 Honoree in 2019.
