David J. Harris is now a solo practitioner who maintains an office in downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He practices in both Pennsylvania and Florida in the areas of bankruptcy, tax, estate, and business law and engages in litigation involving those practice areas. Attorney Harris received his undergraduate degree in History from the Pennsylvania State University and a law degree with honors from the University of Miami. He also received a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. Attorney Harris is a member of the Bars of the States of Pennsylvania and Florida, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Tax Court. He has served as a mediator in bankruptcy and estate matters and has litigated successful outcomes in a large student loan dischargeabilty case in United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit where then Judge Samuel Alito served as chief panelist and in a Ponzi scheme loss deduction case in the United States Tax Court that became the basis for a Revenue Ruling that provided the foundation to accord Madoff victims relief with respect to their Ponzi scheme losses.
